Q: Can you tell us about yourself and your legal background?
I grew up in Ashburton, so the Canterbury Plains have been my playground since childhood. Yes, I was named after the legend that is Whitney Houston, but I unfortunately do not have any singing talents! I have worked in law firms for over 20 years beginning on reception in Christchurch, cultivated my administrative skills in large commercial firms in Melbourne before heading back to Ashburton to be close to family and work in the community I grew up in. I completed my Legal Executive Diploma in 2017 and have recently joined Aspiring Law to work within the Trust and Life Planning team.
Q: What do you enjoy most about guiding clients through Trust and Life Planning transactions?
Dealing with the loss of a loved one is hard enough, but if you have never dealt with Estate administration before it can feel very overwhelming. It is very rewarding to be able to assist clients through what can be a very emotional and difficult time by providing guidance, support and expertise throughout the administration process.
Q: Everyone has their own way to unwind outside of work. What helps you switch off and come back to your work refreshed and focused?
My life revolves around my husband, our 2 dogs, family and friends. There is usually always food being made or consumed, so we also like to get outside in the fresh air to move our bodies and explore what Christchurch has to offer!
